What Kharadi connects to, and what it does not
Kharadi is sold on its IT parks. That is the real draw and it is only half the picture. Here is what the address gives you and where it still costs you time.

Ramwadi is the eastern end of a 14.66 km line, which is better than being a stop in the middle of one. It is also the reason the metro helps with half your journeys and none of the others.

Every Kharadi listing mentions the metro. Almost none of them explain what it does, which is a shame, because the answer is genuinely useful and it is not the answer the listings imply.
The Aqua Line is an elevated line of 14.66 km across 16 stations, running roughly west to east. The section from Garware College to Ruby Hall Clinic opened on 1 August 2023. The remaining stretch to Ramwadi was completed and inaugurated on 6 March 2024.
This matters in two ways that people consistently get backwards.
Ramwadi is a terminus, not a stop in the middle. Trains start there and go out empty.
On a crowded urban line, boarding at the origin means a seat is realistic in the morning rather than theoretical. Anyone who has stood from Kalyani Nagar to Civil Court understands the difference between those two commutes, and it is not marginal.
The line does not continue east. It takes you west into the city centre, to Shivajinagar and to the Civil Court interchange, from which the Purple Line runs north and south.
It does not take you deeper into the eastern IT corridor, and it does not take you to Hinjawadi. If your commute is Kharadi to Hinjawadi, the metro is not the answer today and nothing currently running changes that.
This is the part that decides whether the metro is a feature of your life or a line on a brochure. Ramwadi is a road journey from Kharadi, and that road journey is subject to the same peak-hour conditions as any other.
Three ways people do it, in descending order of how well they work.
The honest summary is that the metro turns some of your journeys into two-stage trips. For the trips it suits, two stages beats one drive. For the trips it does not, it changes nothing.
There is ongoing planning around road and transit infrastructure on this side of the city, including a flyover approved at Mundhwa Chowk designed around the alignment of a proposed metro line, and a road link from the Keshavnagar bridge to Mundhwa.
Proposed is the operative word. Pune has a long record of announced transit that took a decade or never happened at all. The city formally abandoned an elevated inner ring road that had been on the books since 1987.
Buy the address for the line that runs today. If an extension arrives later, treat it as upside you did not pay for. Paying a premium now for transit that exists only on a plan is how people end up funding somebody else’s option.
Before you decide the metro matters to you, do the trip. Drive to Ramwadi on a weekday at the hour you would leave, park, take the train to wherever you are actually going, and time the whole thing door to door.
Then compare it against driving. One of those two numbers is smaller, and it is the same number every weekday for as long as you live here.

Commutes get all the attention. The trips that decide whether an address works are the school run, the chemist at ten at night and the weekly grocery, and those are different journeys.

Kharadi is not expensive because of its schools or its malls. It is expensive because of who employs the people who want to live there, and that is a number you can look up.
